As a teacher we should to act as a mediator between the children and the books. Our objective is to motivate students to read and to increase and improve the reading.

How teacher can create this animation?
-Through their imagination.
-Organize experiences with the reading.
-Make recreational activities.
The las activity that we had to develop in our Bilingual Teaching Training Degree consisted on propose a classroom library and to show how to motivate the reading. I would like to share with you our proposal.
Each reading is a magic trip!
Every children have to bring a book for the library and have to complete the classroom collection, the school should proportionate at least seven books more.
The teacher is going to give children a bus ticket, with their names.
The idea is that children place a sticker in their window when they finish their book and according with their opinions they are going to decide to put a green circle if they like it or red circle if they do not like it.
Then, they have to fill a sheet fos bus tickets, these are the areas they are going to complete after read a book:
-Destination: (the name of the book).
-Driver: (the name of the author).
-What I like most? Why?
-What I like less? Why?
The teacher gives them a personalized certificate when they complete ten bus tickets.
Furthemore, every children have to write the most difficult word and the meaning on the road. Children have to write one word per book without repeating the words. At the end of the year, working in groups they have to create a story based on the main words of the books chosen.
Finally, every child has to shift weekly to be the driver. The task is to organize the library and to give the books to their partners.

ResponderEliminarI wanted to congratulate you for your post and also for your improvement with the language, I think you are doing a big effort to improve your level of English. I have decided to comment your post because I liked a lot when I read yesterday. In my opinion you have very clear the idea about the importance of a library in a classroom.
I agree with you when you say that we are one of the most important parts in the relationship between children and the books. In a close future (I hope) we will have to encourage them to read, and take into account the possible increasing in our children’s motivation and creativity.
Of course I like your proposal because it is also mine, but I would like to comment some things about it. Do you think there is only a way to do this project? I have seen all our partner’s projects and I have proved that there are lots of ways to focus this kind of project. So one thing we could do is take positive things of our project and modify some points to make it more real. The feedback of the teacher was that probably this project is not possible to work on it with all the school people, so we can change some characteristics and put in practise in the future.
From my point of view, the way of making the classroom library will be more important than we think. We should try to get children’s attention through different things that we know they like. Once we have taken their attention, we should increase their motivation and the question is How? Well, it is not easy but it is not impossible. There are lots of activities that motivate children in order to get your objective. Before creating the classroom library, or to get good results with the project we should prepare activities thinking in all of our children.

ResponderEliminarAs you said, reading can help us develop the imagination, creativity and it can improve the cognitive processes such as attention and concentration, it is true and also it will be important in their future not only in these ages.
I do not know that you know but there are publishing houses that have a specific program of reading animation. This is focused on different book. So, when students finished one of them the entertainers go to school and prepared some activities like theatres or treasure hunt or quiz where in group of students have to show their knowledge, imagination, creativity…
In addition, the rule of the teacher in class is very important to make students motivated to read. Nowadays, some schools have their plan of reader animation and create activities when all finished the same book or when each student read one. In my opinion, it is a good idea to do on group and individual animation. What do yo think?
To conclude, I congratulated your proposal, bus stop library, is a good project to develop in class.
